I graduated from Twin Rivers High School in Broseley, Missouri in 1993, and attended Three Rivers Community College with a full music scholarship. I continued my education at TRCC, and graduated in 1995 with an Associate of Arts degree. I finalized my education at Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1997.

I am a current member of MSTA ( Missouri Teacher Association), SCTA (Sikeston Community Teachers Association, MMEA (Missouri Music Educators Association), and NafME (National for of Music Education. I attend conferences in the winter to learn the current research in my field, fun and new techniques to teaching music skills, and new technology the enhances the capabilities of the children.
I started working in the Sikeston Public School district in 1997 as a title assistant. I returned to Sikeston in 2007 and began teaching music at Southeast Elementary. I am currently the primary music educator at Lee Hunter, and the part time music educator at Southeast Elementary. I have also taught at Morehouse Elementary, 5th and 6th Grade Center and Kindergarten center each for one year.
Prior to working at Sikeston I also worked at East Prairie Public School for 6 years. I taught elementary grades K-6 at Martin Elementary and Doyle Elementary.
I am happily married to Daniel Headd, and I have 2 girls Victoria Headd and Kelsie Headd. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat.
When I am not teaching (singing) at school, I direct children’s plays at the Sikeston Little Theater. During the summer, I love to work in my yard, plant flowers, and pull weeds while listening to music on my ipod.
